Truthos Mufasa Joins Jay for ‘Throw Your M’s Up” Wednesday 28th Feb!
This week on the hugely popular Throw Your M’s Up, Jay diamond will be joined by a Manchester face you might recognize, but can’t quite put your finger on.
Truthos Mufasa aka Tachia Newall (remember when he was in Waterloo road) will be passing thru the studio to talk about his new wierd and wonderful music projects.
Wed 12-1pm
Here’s some more about the man himself:
Truthos Mufasa also known as Tachia Newall is an anarchistic singer/songwriter, rapper, producer, drummer, Mancunian megalomaniac member of Manchester rap group Ape Cult. His acting career has proved to be successful from a young age; however Truthos has always had a major passion for music. He’s developed his own sound over the years, starting out on the Manchester Grime scene as an MC, moving onto producing Dubstep in its early days, and now onto an experimental musical expression of all his experiences, a sound that he is currently developing and has released two EPs worth of intriguing work. TruMu is working on his own solo project along with a management team working with various producers, singer/songwriters around the UK. 2013 is the year we see and hear a lot more of TruMu’s solo material, live shows, EP’s, singles, and some exciting collaborations.

Ottilia is Joined by Tsana & Taya Sophie on The Beat Baazar this Sunday 11-1am
Ottilia Talks to street soul songstress Tsana about her new mixtape: Closure
Emerging from Manchester’s growing urban music scene, street soul songstress Tsana has announced the release of her highly anticipated debut mixtape, Closure, which is available to download at www.tsanaofficial.co.uk.
Representing the singer-songwriter’s journey into music over past six years, Closure embodies a variety of soulful sounds, with Tsana’s unique vocals layered over smooth RnB, hip hop beats and understated soul melodies.
Written entirely by Tsana herself, Closure features production from some of the UK’s most talented up-and-coming musicians, including Andy Kingslow & Phil Kirby, G Dub and Dellano.
Commenting on the release of Closure, Tsana says: “I’m very honest when I write songs, and I think that people will be able to relate to that.
“Closure is real street soul – realist lyrics combined with a roots attitude and I’m thrilled to be able to share my journey in one collective piece for the first time in six years.”
The mixtape, which was released on Tsana’s birthday 7th February, features the badman of baseline Burga Boy on the empowering ‘Invincible’, and award-nominated UK rapper Wrigz, who makes an appearance with fellow C4entertainment artist SBD on the suptuous string-laden ‘Flying Away’. Mature beyond her years, cuts like the slow guitar refinement of “Break The Rules” exude Jill Scott quality, while on the lyrically identifiable fan favourite “Lullaby” Tsana’s soft vocals play homage to the strength a man can draw from a wise and devoted woman.
Having already enjoyed a taste of mainstream success with her songs being played by DJ’s on 1Xtra, and enjoying guest spots opening for RnB legends SWV, K-Ci & JoJo and Faith Evans, the musical styles and lyrical messages of Closure are enough to move every part of the physical, mental and spiritual being.
TAYA SOPHIE – ONE TO WATCH !
Not satisfied with just one guest Ottilia, will also be introducing another highly talented Mancunian 18 year old singer songwriter with great potential: Taya Sophie, who is currently at Trafford College Music Base. Taya is a fan of strong inspirational females such as Beyonce, Adele and Jessie J and it is clear where she gets her inspiration from. Taya is ready to share her voice so expect a live performance on the Beat Bazaar Show.
‘I don’t know where my music career is going to go, or where I will end up if it goes wrong, but what I can say is that I feel ready to share my voice, my music and my personality with everyone and just hope that everyone will enjoy listening to my voice and my music as much as I enjoy getting into the recording studio and performing.’

Eli Cripps Joins Bizzy B this Saturday on The Weekend Wake-up show!
The talented Eli Cripps will be joining Bizzy on Saturday’s Weekend Wake Up to chat about all things Eli, the Xfactor and her new EP “When We First Met”
About Eli Cripps
Eli Cripps, a passionate singer/songwriter…
I adore music because it inspires and moves me. To me, it’s the best form of communication and I think this is what makes me similar to other rising artists within and beyond Manchester. We all share this love for music.
What I have discovered that makes me different (or ‘unique’) is where my passion comes from. I’ve had an extremely diverse life so far – being born to a Nigerian mother and Welsh father and having lived and travelled all over Africa. My musical and cultural influences are so eclectic that I feel at home with all genres from Pop to Jazz to Electronic to R&B and Hip Hop.
I think this has clearly come to light with my recently released EP “When We First Met” which combines Dance, Pop, Acoustic and R&B genres. My next project is to release ‘everybody’s favourite’ song – Red Carpet. I plan to do this at the beginning of March with a music video following in April/May.
My journey to becoming a recognised Artist has been incredible so far (challenging, but incredible). Many have been surprised to hear that I’m a one-woman-team, but the current absence of a management team has only driven me further to do the very best I can for myself as an aspiring writer/singer/performing artist.

Guest Mix from Doodle on the Warm & Bumpy Show with Ben Starr this Thursday 1-3am!
This week Ben has got the boys from Doodle doing a guest mix on the show.
Here’s a bit about them.
DOODLE started over a year and a half ago by promoters and residents Will Long and Charlie Fleig. The initial concept was nothing more than just having the urge to throw a good party for friends with some of our favourite DJs/producers. To date, DOODLE has welcomed the likes of Bicep, Todd Terje, Wolf Music, KRL, Detroit Swindle, Deep Space Orchestra, Medlar, Melon and many others to Manchester; picking up several Manchester/UK debuts along the way.
This is the first in a regular series of guest mixes on Bens show. Watch out for up and coming producer Nemmz in the next few weeks.
SBD Joins Bizzy B from the Weekend Breakfast – Saturday 2nd Feb!
My first taste of success came at the very early age of 13 with my first official release Where Are You Now? This song gave a voice to all the children raised in single parent families and a lot of people related. It ended up spreading through the UK quite quickly leading to the video having over 250,000 views. Because Where Are You Now did so well, it was difficult to follow it up.
My first release in a long time is called Maybe You’re The One. This song is produced by Dot Rotten and has a laid back feel to it. Although it’s quite different to what’s coming out the UK at the moment, I feel it represents me well and clearly shows the path I want to go down. Semtex has supported it on his 1xtra show consistently along with many other local and national Dj’s including Unity Radio 92.8FM here in Manchester.
