Stu Allan | Friday 7-9pm
Stu blasts the largest Old Skool tunes he can find! Unity’s official and proper start to the weekend!
About Stu Allan:
Stu Allan is a legendary figure in the UK dance music scene, and was an inspiration to a generation of young Northwest DJs that used to tune in to listen to his ground breaking radio show on Piccadilly radio back in the mid-late 80′s.
Stu was a true pioneer of dance music in the North of England, and was largely responsible for changing the musical landscape for many people as the explosion of Hip-Hop and House music swept across the UK in the late 80′s and early 90′s.
Playing all over the UK and beyond, Stu set the benchmark which many tried to follow – stints in Ibiza and Tenerife back in 93 – 99 saw Stu packing out 2000+ capacity venues on a regular basis.
Stu’s appearances at Bowlers, Manchester during this time were legendary, taking the night onto another level!
As well as being a pioneer in the DJ scene Stu has also enjoyed monumental success as a recoding artist and producer, releasing tracks under such guises as Visa & Clock, scoring no less than 14 top 40 hits, of which 4 were top 10!
Whilst all this was happening, Stu was still producing & presenting his weekly Friday and Saturday & Sunday Dance shows on Key 103, Manchester including during ’99-2000 Kiss 100 approached him to mix & produce the now legendary “Kiss Mix” (Mon-Sat evenings) which became the most listened to shows on at that time in London for 14 – 24 year olds.
Stu continues to spread the word across the UK and beyond!

DJ Kuta | Saturday’s 5-7PM
About The Show:
Expect the very best of clubland anthems from house to hardcore and a sprinkling, of Old Skool! Tune in for regular interviews, competitions and guest mixes from DJ’s and producers.
About DJ Kuta:
Reigning from sunny OLDHAM Mike Lewis (aka DJ Kuta) got a taste for DJ’ing in the mid-eighties when a friend asked him to help carry his gear for a mobile disco! That was it, hooked isn’t the word, he did a couple of mobiles then got a club residency after only 5 gigs!
Mike worked his way up from the small independents to the PLCs and as well as the usual stuff was one of a few DJs that started playing House music at its birth when the first Chicago imports came through to the Manchester record shops.
At the beginning of the 90′s he became involved in producing and writing tunes on the underground scene in the Northwest of England with band Quartech which later became N-TRANCE and signed to PWL.
After a year or so it was decided a change of record company would be advantageous to the track ‘Set You Free’ and Higgi (Mix Factory) pointed us to AATW, this also coincided with the birth of Mikes son Philip and he then left as an active member of the band. (Later to return as DJ)
Alongside all this Mike was presenting various radio shows on 102FM in Manchester.
THE LEWIS LOWDOWN – Playing classic Electro, Hip-Hop, Soul and Funk from the early to mid 80s
THE DANCE CLASS – Playing the earliest of house!
INSOMNIA – This was then the longest dance show on radio 9 Hours long!
Fast forward a few years and Mike has represented N-trance and CLUBLAND at gigs in the UK and Ibiza, Mallorca, Kavos, Tenerife, Egypt, Poland etc. and is still banging the tunes out far and wide on a busy schedule.

About Lee Heywood
As a young teenager I was tuning in till the late hours listening to different Manchesters pirate stations trying to catch my share of this new rave scene my older friends and family were talking about.
I knew I needed to be a part of this, the hacienda had just fired up and Manchester was well and truly buzzing. So on this I decided I was was going start djing but I needed a way in and knew I couldnt dance, sing,or m.c so pirate radio was my only option and since that moment to now I’ve enjoyed every moment.
I have played alongside some really good djs and in some good locations ranging from small, sweaty back rooms to more sopisticated clubs and bars mainly in and around Manchester.
I’ve always had an interest in the creation of music and am currently working on various projects with Mat Young the man with the technical skills required for todays dance music production who I have recently indroduced as my co-host on my show at Unity Radio.
I’ve worked with the guys here at Unity for a few years now and have been focused on pushing on with my show and making sure my listeners get the taste of true house music.
