Ben Starr | Thursday’s 1-3AM
Good Quality Music every Wednesday.
About the show:
“I love my late night slot because it means I can go a little deep and a bit strange, though my style is always warm and chunky no matter what. Instead of trying to stick to one sound I try to play a few different styles. I like it fun, heavy….and sometimes a little bit rude, but I also love soft, quite minimal stuff.”
About Ben Starr:
Not being a drummer in a family that boasted two was pretty tough for Ben Starr but that only meant that he dealt with the concept of rhythm in a completely different way. Growing up on a heavy cocktail of Blues, Acid house, Jazz, Hip-Hop and South American music from his dad and brother meant that when he came to musical maturity, after a heavy spell loving Grunge and Indie, he chose Techno, DnB and House as his music of choice.
Ben went on to become a promoter in London at seminal venue Fabric, had dj residencies at The Macbeth, T Bar and The Book Club and has also worked on festivals such as Glastonbury, Snowbombing, Eurocultured, Parklife, Global Gathering and Strummer Of Love doing anything from promotion/pr to filming to artist liaison.
